PURPOSE:To obtain performance that endures even the severe conditions under high temperatures and is excellent in high efficiency discharge by using a positive electrode plate in which nickel powder and cobalt powder are added to an active material at each special rate as the conductive material. CONSTITUTION:A sealed type nickel cadmium battery is produced by mixing and press-molding porous rod-shaped cobalt powder 5wt% obtained by heating and decomposing nickel hydroxide powder 75wt%, carbonyl nickel powder 20wt%, and cobalt oxalate under hydrogen atmosphere and separately activating and processing a positive electrode plate that is enclosed in a nickel wire and is re- molded and a negative electrode plate molded in the same way as the positive electrode plate while the nickel powder of 10wt% is being added to cadmium oxide powder and then using the potassium hydroxide of 30% aqueous solution as an electrolyte. The loadings of cobalt powder and nickel powder are combined within the range of 0.3 to 20wt% and 5 to 45wt%, respectively, depending upon the discharge conditions of a battery. |
