PURPOSE:To obtain the ventilating fan which can be attached to a fixing frame in a simple manner without resorting to bolting or welding by a method wherein engaging strips are formed on the fixing frame so that one end of each of arms for supporting a motor of the ventilating fan is fitted in, and held by, each of the engaging strips. CONSTITUTION:In case support rods 3 each welded with a support plate 4 at one end thereof are fitted in the fixing frame 5, a projection 8 of the support plate 4 is inserted aslant into the opening of a slitted and formed strip 6 by holding the support rod 3 by hand. After that, the corners of the support plate 4 are brought into engagement with the inner walls 5A and 5B of an angulated section of the fixing frame 5, holes 5C and 5D in the fixing frame 5 are brought into alignment with holes 7B and 7A in the support plate 4 and the motor 2 is bolted to the other end of the support rod 3. By the fixing of the motor 2 to the support rod 3, the support rod 3 is held in tension and is substantially fixed to the fixing frame 5. In addition, when the bolts are fixed to the fixing frame 5 through the holes 5C, 7B and the holes 5D, 7A, the fixing frame 5 and the support plate 4 are fixed together firmly.
