PURPOSE:To prevent contamination in a room and accidents such as fire hazard, by preventing rising of flames, generation of soot, and others caused by abnormal combustion, by checking a wick from re-ascending by a stop mechanism when it is once descended down to the under combustion line in a kerosene combustion appliance. CONSTITUTION:When a wick controlling knob 6 is turned counterclockwise to the wick descending direction and a combustion wick is descended to the lower position than a wick exposed position from the position above a combustion tray, a pivot piece 17 is slid to the leftward by a cam piece 6d, being interconnected with an actuating plate 14 and a sliding plate 13. When a pin 12a, being slided by a guide hole 12, comes up to a chevron top 12b and further continues pivoting, a tension spring 19 crosses over a dead point and pulls the pin 12a to the left end of a guide hole 12, and then the pin 12a comes to be slided by the small diameter part 6c of an outer peripheral edge. The wick controlling knob 6 is able to be turned to the left side that is the wick descending direction, but when it is turned rightward, trying to ascend the combustion wick again, an anchoring surface 6a is abutted against the pin 12a to prevent the knob from turning. With such an arrangement, abnormal upright rising flames caused by re-ascending of combustion wick after it is descended by half can be prevented. |
