Storm separation works for separating sewage and storm water, having a storage space which is arranged between sewer and sewage purification plant and in which a downflow baffle partitions off a separation-side space which is provided with an outlet to the sewage purification plant and with an overflow crest to the sewage pipe, an additional outlet controlled by a float being provided to reduce the maximum storage level. Arranged between the bottom edge (20) of the downflow baffle (16) and the wall (7) of the storage space (5) is a coarse filter (26). A float (34) arranged preferably in the sewer-side storage space (5) is connected via balance arms (31, 32) whose axis of rotation (33) lies above the downflow baffle (16), to a flap (28) which forms the weir sill (29) and is deflected on the top (15) of the separation-side boundary wall (10). <IMAGE>
