The invention relates to an X-ray investigation device having an X-ray image intensifier (3) and an X-ray film changer (4) both of which can be switched on selectively for the preparation of X-ray images. The X-ray image intensifier (3) and the X-ray film changer (4) have the same image axis (7). In order to operate with the X-ray image intensifier (3), the recording unit (9) of the X-ray film changer (4) is removed. The X-ray image intensifier (3) and the X-ray film changer (4) can be displaced relative to one another in the direction of the image axis (7) so that the respective recording apparatus can be moved close to the object being investigated. <IMAGE>
