Test device for a clutch

For the metrological determination of operating forces of clutches (1) under near operating conditions, the test device has, in a rotating hollow shaft (8), a plunger (9) which is equipped for securing the respective clutch (1) and is supported axially in compliant fashion in the hollow shaft (8) via a load cell (14). Arranged between the hollow shaft (8), which is connected to a rotary operating mechanism, and the plunger (9) are torsionally rigid, flexible multiple disc clutches which prevent transverse movements of the plunger (9), offer negligible opposing force to axial movements of the latter caused by operating forces to be measured and, at the same time, while avoiding disruptive frictional forces, ensure a firm connection between the hollow shaft (8) and the plunger (9) in terms of rotation. <IMAGE>
