In a door or window having a wing (12) attached to a frame (10), the frame (10) being formed, by the use of pressed chipboards, from panel-shaped lining elements (40) and cladding elements (44) butting together at right angles with the lining elements (40), and a lock plate (14) being fastened to the frame (10) in the region of a frame edge (16), it is proposed to fasten the lock plate (14) by means of fastening dowels (54) or woodscrews extending at an inclination to the respective panel planes, the inner dowel end or screw end (58) reaching into panel-edge layers of the respective panel element. This ensures not only the possibility of simple assembly, but also a high pull-out strength of the fastening dowels (54) or woodscrews and therefore an increased break-in safety. <IMAGE>
