Cpd. of formula (I) is new. (I) is prepd. by dehydration of a cpd. using H2SO4. (II) can be obtd. by addn. reaction of 3-acetylpyridine with trichloroacetaldehyde in the presence of Lewis acids sich as ZnCl2, BF3, AlCl3 or AlBr3 or in the presence of bases sich as 1,4-diazabicyclo (2.2.2) octane or 1,5-diazabicyclo (5.4.0) undec-7-ene.
