PURPOSE:To provide an internal antistatic agent which has an excellent antistatic effect and is well compatible with synthetic resins, by spray drying an emulsion obtd, by emulsion polymerizing a vinyl monomer in the presence of a cationic polyelectrolyte as an emulsifier. CONSTITUTION:At least one cationic polyelectrolyte selected from among salts of a quaternary ammonium group-contg. polymer (e.g. a salt of quaternary polyethyleneimine), salts of a sulfonium salt-contg. polymer [e.g. poly (2-acryloxy- ethyldimethylsulfonium chloride)] and a salts of a phosphonium salt-contg. polymer [e.g. poly (glycidyltributylphosphonium chloride)] is used as an emulsifier. Said polyelectrolyte may be used together with a cationic or a nonionic surfactant. A vinyl monomer such as vinyl acetate or an alkyl acrylate is emulsion- polymerized in the presence of said emulsifier. The resulting emulsion is spray- dried.
