The invention relates to metal frames and their constituent elements making it possible to build, at will, a range of metal constructions which can receive, depending on their use, a flexible or rigid roofing without having to modify the basic frame. It comprises a basic frame in the shape of a basket handle, consisting of arches 2 joined together by continuous ties 2. The ends of the frame are reinforced by two reinforcing ties 3, two cross bracing elements 4 and two stays 5. The connection of the arches and ties is ensured by a collar which is closed and locked by a bolt and allows the width of the spans to be varied at will. A device makes it possible to join a number of frames together without having to modify the basic frame in any way. When a rigid roofing is used (glass, polycarbonate, polyester, eternit, etc.), the frame can receive the metal section supports, without having to modify the basic frame. Among the more advantageous applications of the invention, mention may be made of the complete range of shelters, tunnels and agricultural greenhouses, rearing buildings, sheds and all metal constructions having multiple uses. <IMAGE>
