The subject of the invention is a computer-based apparatus for facilitating the determination of a route between any first station of a metropolitan railway network with several intercommunicating lines in intercommunicating stations and any second station of the said network. The apparatus comprises a memory device having, stored in memory, the routes between all the possible pairs of stations, computer means for determining, via the connecting station, the route to be followed between any departure stations and any arrival station inserted into the computer, and display means 14 for the said connecting stations. <IMAGE>
