PURPOSE:To easily record various widths of bar codes by a simple mechanism in which magnetic latent images formed in a magnetic recorder by a magnetic head are partly erased in terms of their width by a selective operation and the magnetic latent images visualized by a color magnetic ink are fixed as such to a magnetic recorder or transferred to a transfer medium and fixed. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recorder 1 is wholly demagnetized by a magnet 2. A bar code pattern signal is given to a magnetic head 3, and the neccedary portion of the magnetic recorder 1 is magnetized to form a magnetic latent image. In case where the necessary image width of bar code to be obtained is maximum, a magnetic latent image in the necessary maximum width is formed by the magnetic head 3, and therefore, the magnetic head 4 is retracted to the outside of the magnetic latent image region. The magnetic latent image is thus developed as such and visualized by a color magnetic ink in the development section 5 without influence of the magnetic head 4. On the other hand, in case where the necessary image width of bar code is smaller than maximum, the magnetic head 4 is advanced in a necessary amount into the magnetic latent image region by a drive mean. |
