In a receiving device for receiving and transporting dog excrement, the device is formed by two carrying container halves (1+2) and carrying handle halves (5+6) opposite these, which are interconnected in the manner of tongs by means of a pin (3). The carrying container halves (1+2) are held in their closed position by means of a lock (4) arranged in the region of the carrying handles (5+6). Moreover, the side walls of the carrying containers (1+2) have outwardly directed stabilising corners (7+8) which make possible setting down on the ground. Opposite the stabilising corners (8), the side walls are extended with side parts (9) which enclose the side walls of the carrying container (2) in the closed position and seal these in an odourless manner. <IMAGE>
