The cutter head spindle (1) passes through a bearing and seal (2) fitted to a flange (3). The flange top has a non-rotating support tube (4) connected to the suction dredger ladder. Bolts (5) secure the truncated cone lid part (6) to bottom of the flange (3). The bottom wheel (10) has peripheral spaced holes (11) and extends on the outside to a knife edge. The sharp peripheral rim (12) has peripheral spaced cutter blades (14) of which the cutting edges (15) lay on the side surfaces of the truncated cone with down turned top surfaces.
