Keyboard musical instrument with tuning tongues which are pulled by a key-operated carrier, and with a brake member for the return of the carrier into its rest position onto the tuning tongue in spite of key release, in order thus to make possible swinging out of the tuning tongue. The brake member can preferably be controlled by a pedal.
