The invention relates to a device for the continuous axial feed of rotated bars of any desired cross-section, in particular heat exchanger tubes of circular or oval cross-section, for the purpose of winding them in tape, the said device having a clamping device which takes the bars along at least in the circumferential direction and engages on the surface of the bars. In order to provide a continuous axial feed with a feed rate which can be adjusted relative to the rotational speed, at least two feed rollers engaging on opposite sides of the bar are provided, each of which is mounted to allow rotation about an axis extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bars and are driven by gear wheels, taking the bar along in the axial direction, the said gear wheels being driven by a revolving guide nut which can be driven with a different, adjustable speed to the speed of the clamping device, thereby bringing about the axial feed.
