<p>T-cell DNA synthesis-repressing substance comprising a low-molecular peptide having the following physical and chemical properties: (a) elemental analysis: C, H, O, N, and S are present; (b) molecular weight: about 1,000 Dalton; (c) pH stability: stable at a pH of 3.5 to 10.0; (d) UV spectrum: maximum absorption: at 210 to 220 nm; and (e) color reaction: ninhydrin-positive. This substance is prepared from fibroblasts or lymphocytes, fibroblasts of insects, animal blood, and body fluid of insects, and is effective in repressing the activity of immune cells and useful for treating autoimmune diseases. </p> |
