A scrap cutting machine comprises a mobile frame 1 and a pair of blade parts 2, 3, which are capable of cutting in a scissors-like manner, at least one of the blade parts 2, 3 being pivotally attached to the frame 1. The fixing elements 7, 8, 11 on the swivelling blade part 2 can be adjusted so as to adjust the cutting gap and/or the cutting angle between the blade pats 2, 3. A cutting machine is thereby provided, which by an adjustment of the position of the blades in relation to one another can be adapted to different types and thicknesses of material, and which is particularly well-suited to cutting up plate-like objects. <IMAGE>
