发明名称 SYNTHESIS OF ARTIFICIAL ZOISITE SINGLE CRYSTAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a high-quality artificial zoisite single crystal in high efficiency, under controlled rate of dissolution, by charging a calcined or vitrified raw material, quartz, and a seed crystal separately in a molten salt, and applying temperature differences between the charging zones. CONSTITUTION:Al2O3, CaO, Al(OH)3, V2O3 and a colorant in the raw materials having the composition of zoisite or thereabout are calcined or vitrified. The raw material composed of the above product and SiO2 as quartz, and a seed crystal are charged separately into a molten salt composed of lithium molybdate, MoO3, LiOH, V2O5, etc. or a molten salt obtained by adding small amount of one or more components of the raw material to the above molten salt in the form of powder. The zone to dissolve the raw material, the zone to grow the seed crystal, and the zone to dissolve quartz are formed in the crucible, and temperature differences are formed between the zones. The growth rate of the seed crystal can be maintained at a definite level, and an artificial zoisite single crystal free from inclusion can be synthesized by this process.
