摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce fluctuation of torque at the time of changing the mode of operation of a multi-cylinder engine, by changing the opening of a throttle valve to the depression angle of an accelerator pedal at the time of fully-cylinder operation of the engine from that at the time of partial-cylinder operation. CONSTITUTION:A return spring 28 and an electromagnetic actuator 27 are attached to one end of a turning shaft 25 of a throttle valve 1 that is disposed in an intake passage 2 of an engine capable of controlling the number of cylinders to be operated. A control unit 30 includes a memory in which the throttle-valve opening suited to the depression angle of an accelerator pedal for fuel-cylinder operation and partial-cylinder operation of the engine. Output signal of a potentiometer 32 for detecting the depression angle of the accelerator pedal 31 is afforded to the control unit 30, and the control unit 30 reads out the corresponding throttle-valve opening from the memory on the basis of the output signal of the potentiometer 32 and the operational conditions of the engine and drives the actuator 27 according to the throttle-valve opening thus read out from the memory. In case that the depression angle of the accelerator pedal is the same, the engine output is raised by increasing the throttle-valve opening for the partial-cylinder operation relatively so as to keep the difference of torque at the time of partial-cylinder operation and that at the time of full-cylinder operation as small as possible. Therefore, it is enabled to reduce fluctuation of the torque.
