The invention relates to a method for the joining together of laminated material (1 min ) comprising layers (2 min ) of orientation-stretched polyester covered with glycol-modified polyester (3 min ), a strand (10) of molten glycol-modified polyester being applied to the laminated material along the joining area (11) and the laminated material being pressed together whilst it is cooled. The laminated material (1 min ) is joined together in that heat from the molten strand (10) is transferred to the pressed-on layers (3 min ) of the laminate (1 min ), the surface portions of the layers (3 min ) being made to melt at the same time as the strand (10) is cooled.
