PURPOSE:To enable the determination of a substrate in high sensitivity, by reacting the substrate with anoxidase, and determining the produced superoxide ion. CONSTITUTION:A substrate is made to react with an oxidase having specificity to respective substrate, and the superoxide ions produced quantitatively by the enzymatic reaction is collected. The substrate is determined taking advantage of the reducing power of the ion. The process can be made practical in view of time, sensitivity, accuracy, etc. of the measurement by adding a peroxidase, amine, phenolic compound, and a compound having SH group to the system.
