PURPOSE:To improve the reaction efficiency with a molten metal and to carry out easily a stabilized treatment by specifying the number, arrangement and spouting direction of dipping pipes when a treating agent is blown with a carrier gas from the dipping pipes into a molten metal in a torpedo. CONSTITUTION:When a treating agent is blown with a carrier gas through dipping pipes 3 into a molten metal 2 in a torpedo 1, the two dipping pipes 3 are arranged on a major axis 6 of the torpedo 1 so as to parallel the spouting directions of the treating agent to each other and to take 15 deg.-60 deg. angle between the spouting direction and the major axis 6 of the torpedo 1. The two dipping pipes 3 are arranged so as to take positions having <=0.1 ratio of the length from the position to the center 7 of the major axis of the torpedo 1 to the length 8 of the major axis. In this manner, the treatment of the molten metal 2 can be caried out quickly and accurately. |
