A rolling mill stand has a main roll, mounted in chocks and an auxiliary roll, between which the material to be rolled is passed. The chocks are movable along guides of the stand housing with which the auxiliary roll is mechanically coupled. The mill drive comprises a coupled arrangement of a transmission, mechanically coupled with the main roll journals and at least two motors. - The transmission is mounted in a split housing and comprises a gear wheel, the hub of which is mechanically coupled with the main roll journals and at least two pinion shafts which mesh with the periphery of the gear wheel. One motor is provided for each pinion shaft and is fixed to the drive housing coaxially with the corresponding pinion shaft. |
