TWO-DIMENSIONAL INTERPOLATION PICTURE PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To speed up processing by alloting a processor for area enclosed by each sampling point when sampled value is stored in a memory and determining the value at divided position of the area. CONSTITUTION:A control processor PE#0 sends weight coefficient Wij used for interpolation and positional information of area to be interpolated to processors PE#1-PE#4. The PE#0 sends out picture data in the common memory to a bus. Each PE takes in data necessary for interpolating data in alloted area and performs interpolation calculation of sample point using the weight coefficient. When the PE#0 sends out coordinate of interpolation point to the bus, relevant PE takes out interpolation value of sample point calculated beforehand and stores it in the common memory. When positional information of a point to be interpolated is inputted actually, the value of sample point nearest to the position is read out and outputted as an interpolation value.
