PURPOSE:To improve considerably the operability of an electronic instrument, by defining many key operation procedures to a desired function key. CONSTITUTION:The area from an address FOOH to the address FFFH in a random access memory RAM is assigned as an area for a user define key (UDK) to function keys (FK) F1-F4. It is possible that the area from the start address to the last address assigned for the UDK is used for a desired FK. When a key input operation is executed, a control unit CPU supplies a control signal to the RAM so that a terminator ''00'' is added to an ASCII code string corresponding to the key operation to store it. When the FK F3 is depressed, instruction ''PRINTDATE'' is executed, and contents of DATE are displyed on a display device DISP. |
