A multi-purpose press frame is described which has a rectangular, erectable base frame with at least one pressure beam, which runs parallel to the side columns and on which vertically adjustable pressure units with abutments are arranged, and also a slide extending parallel to the pressure beams, guided on the horizontal parts of the base frame and having horizontal pressure units which are vertically adjustable on the slide. The base frame is composed of easily releasable frame profile parts and is pivotably mounted on standing feet. It can therefore be set with its frame plane in both a vertical position and a slightly inclined position. In addition, the vertically acting pressure units and abutments can be pivoted by 90 DEG relative to the frame plane and can be equipped with pressure strips for the uniform production of pressure during carcass pressing. This configuration therefore provides a light and also easy-to-manipulate press frame which can be used not only for frame pressing, such as, for example, for window frames, but also for edge or board gluing and finally also for carcass pressing. The novel press frame can therefore be used universally.
