The invention relates to a process for producing warp-knitted narrow lace, also called narrow double-rib lace or lace tape, which is provided with picots at least at one edge. The aim of the invention is to reduce the quality defects occurring during thermal separation and, at the same time, visually to improve the edge of warp-knitted narrow lace, to be separated thermally, by means of a picot arrangement. The object on which the invention is based is to cover with picots on one side the yarn ends having a disturbing effect at the lace edge. The process according to the invention contains a new weave at the lace edge, along with a partial use of thermally meltable and dissolvable yarn material.
