The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for a telephone station with an answering machine, where the answering machine is automatically connected to the subscriber line after a specific number of ringing tones. The object of the invention is to allow the station subscriber to intercept an incoming message when the answering machine is in operation without de-activating the answering machine, to participate in the call himself if necessary and to record the call. This is achieved in that an earpiece can be connected via an additional repeating coil inserted in the subscriber line and, if required, a microphone can be connected via a matching network, where this connection does not interfere with the function of the answering machine which is connected in order to record the distant message. The inventive concept can be implemented in all answering machines which can be connected to a telephone station.
