A furnace has a housing which consists exclusively of fibre material. For this purpose, two self-supporting pots (1,2), one within the other, are formed from the fibre material. The inner pot (2) contains the electrical heating system of the furnace, in the form of a heating conductor (4). The outer pot both forms the external wall (25) of the furnace and contains all the necessary functional elements. A cover (3) is set on the unit formed by the two pots, and, when in position, closes a circuit to the heating conductor (4), and opens it when removed. <IMAGE>
