PURPOSE:To read originals impossible for separation such as book by contacting closely a reading element array onto a document, moving a reading section in a direction at a right angle to the element array and transferring a picture signal to a storage device at each prescribed distance of movement. CONSTITUTION:The original reading section 21 is placed at the end of the original, moved at a right angle to an image sensor in the direction of the other end, and a picture signal of one scanning line read by the image sensor at each prescribed distance of movement according to a signal generated from a moving position detecting section is transferred to the storage device 23. Then, the reading for one screen's share is performed. |
