PURPOSE:To recognize a pattern at a high speed by processing basic information necessary for the recognition of the pattern in terms of hardware. CONSTITUTION:A synchronizing signal generating circuit 10 generates the entire timing signal for signal processing, and a horizontal/vertical counter 11 counts horizontal/vertical coordinates by counting the synchronizing signal. A counter 12 counts the outputs of a multileveled circuit 9, and a width counter 13 counts the output width of the circuit 9. A memory circuit 14 stores the contents of the counter 11 with the output of the circuit 9, and memory circuits 15 and 16 store the contents of counters 12 and 13 respectively. Then a pattern is recognized on the basis of the information stored in memory circuits 14-16 respectively. Thus the patterns can be recognized at a high speed. |
