WATERTIGHT CONNECTION STRUCTURE BETWEEN OPTICAL SUBMARINE CABLE AND OPTICAL SUBMARINE CABLE JOINT BOX

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain high watertightness which maintains electric conduction by arranging a metallc O or C ring between the internal surface of a sleeve which pierces a thin metallic pipe fixed to an anchor and the external surface of the thin pipe. CONSTITUTION:An anchor 3 and a copper tube 2 are shown in the figure on a large scale; and the thin metallic pipe 13 with less thickness deviation is brazed to the metalic O or C ring 12 and copper ring 2 at points 13a and 13b, and a O ring 14, the sleeve 15, and a nut 16 for fixing the sleeve 15 to the anchor 3 are rovided. Then, thin metal 13 is brazed to the copper tube 2 of a cable to form a complete contacting surface, obtaining excellent watertightness and conductivity.
