PURPOSE:To insepct the surface defect of a member represented by the surface defect of a welded part in high detection capacity, by converting mirror to a half mirror while arranging a light source to a place where is directly above the mirror but out of the visual field of a television camera. CONSTITUTION:A mirror 5 is converted to a half mirror and a light source 3 is provided so as to be arranged to a place where is directly above an observation desired region. Because the light source 3 and the mirror 5 can be arranged directly above a welding bead 7 having high reflectivity as is the mirror and positioned so as not to injure mutual functions thereof, the amount of effective reflected light to the mirror 5 from the welding bead 7 becomes much and the brightness levels of the welding bead 7 and a surface crack 8 are high as compared with the other parts. In addition, the brightness level difference 11 of the welding bead 7 and the surface crack 8 is also large and the detection of the surface crack by a sight becomes easy. In practical inspection, it is pref. that an inspection tool 4 equipped with the half mirror 5, an industrial television camera 1 and the light source 3 are fixed to a truck which is, in turn, made movable by a running roller 21. |
