It relates to a geared transmission intended to be placed between a driving shaft 10 and a driven shaft 11. According to the invention, this transmission comprises a planetary reduction gear assembly with two stages A, B in which the planetary gear 13A of the first stage A forms the input element whilst the ring gear 18B of the second stage B forms the output element thereof, with the ring gear 18A of the first stage A rotationally connected to the planetary gear 13B of the second stage B, the satellite carrier 14B of the second fixed stage B, coupling means 23 suitable for establishing a connection between the said ring gear 18B and the satellite carrier 14A of the first stage A, and braking means 24 capable of stopping the latter.
