The positioning device subject of the invention is constituted by a hollow rigid body 1 of elongated parallelepipedal shape comprising a longitudinal slot 4, on the inside of which body is situated a rule 2 in a deformable material which is able to project to the outside via the said slot 4 under the action of a flexible envelope situated inside the hollow body and supplied by a pressurised fluid. This device makes it possible to position together on the plate of a nailing table, several blocks of wood which can have dimensional spacings. <IMAGE>
