Until now, the various companies have delivered only audio-visual apparatuses which are matched to their respective magnetic tape apparatuses. These supplementary apparatuses, whose functions are virtually identical, have therefore grown in number because the DIN Standard is ambiguous and different connector pin allocations are thus used. While checking the circuit diagrams of apparatuses which have appeared in the last 15 years, it was found that essentially two connector allocations are used. This relates in particular to the power supply and the pause remote control. If the connecting point 1 and the connecting point 5 of a plug connector conforming to DIN 15970 are provided with a switching diode, so that its cable points towards connecting point 1, it is possible to take the supply voltage from all these apparatuses. In this case, the pause remote control is disconnected in each case.
