The critical factor in increasing the productivity of machines for the production of textile floor coverings is a constant and uniform speed of the stitch-fixing member. The machine according to the invention achieves this object by the use of an endless screw which is serrated with the stitch-fixing channels and which guarantees a constant and uniform drive of the stitch-fixing member. The shooting-in blade is fastened rigidly to a working beam and is connected slideably displaceably to a guide frame in parallel with the stitch-fixing channels. The guide frame is connected in an articulated manner to a secondary sliding block which is seated in a secondary slotted channel. The primary sliding block located in a primary slotted channel is connected to an adaptation offset of the main shaft. The main shaft is connected coaxially to the output shaft of a reduction gear by means of a coupling. The transmission ratio between the output shaft and transmission shaft of the reduction gear is an integer of not less than 1. The speed of the stitch-fixing member can be regulated by varying the angle between the axis of the endless screw and the walls of the stitch-fixing channels.
