<p>A modular looper apparatus (18) for a multiple-needle tufting machine including a modular hook bar (20) made of solid material and including a transversely extending recess (30) opening through the front face (25) of the hook bar (20). Transverse gauge bars or members (35) having transversely spaced vertical hook slots (38) opening through the front and bottom portions of the gauge bar are inserted within the recess (30) for receiving the shank portions (41) of the corresponding looper hooks (40, 40") in operative positions by set screws (51, 52) extending upward through the bottom portion of the hook bar (20), into the recess (30) and in vertical alignment with the corresponding hook slots (38). </p> |
