PURPOSE:The titled plaster base that is made by adding INYOKAKU or SAISHIN to a rubber tacky substance, thus keeping the active ingredients stable without its decomposition. CONSTITUTION:INYOKAKU (a kind of herb drug prepared from Epimedium grandiflorum MOREEN) or SAISHIN (Asarum sieboldi MIRUEL), which may be in the form of an extract, is added to a tacky rubber substance such as natural or synthetic rubber or their mixture to prepare the objective plaster base. The amount of the herbs is 0.03-2wt% in INYOKAKU, 0.01-2wt% in the form of an extract, or 0.05-2wt% in SAISHIN, 0.01-2wt% in the form of an extract. It is very useful, when the plaster contains, as active ingredients, compounds bearing phenolic hydroxyls such as salicylic acid derivatives and amines such as ethanolamine antihistamics, which are remarkably lowered in its content in the conventional rubber plaster base. |
