CLEANING METHOD OF INTERMEDIATE TRANSFERRING BODY

PURPOSE:To lighten the burden of cleaning of an intermediate transferring body and reduce damage by cleaning the intermediate transferring body by spacng the intermediate transferring body off a toner image forming body. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning of the intermediate transferring body 5 is performed by a pressing roller 6 under the condition that the intermediate transferring body 5 is spaced off the toner image forming body 1 not to transfer the toner image while recording action other than transferring a toner image on the toner image forming body 1 to the intermediate transferring body 5 is being made. As toner adhered on the pressing roller 6 during the cleaning of the intermediate transferring body 5 is removed by a cleaning member 8, the back surface of recording paper P is not toner stained by the heating pressing roller 6. The recording paper P performs a part as a cleaning member for the intermediate transferring body while the recording paper P is passing through a transferring fixing section (b). Thus, the burden of cleaning and damage of the intermediate transferring body are reduced.
