For speech or voice controlled automatic connection in a communication system, in particular a car telephone system that comprises a plurality of mobile subscriber units A and a number of fixed base stations B with which the subscriber units can establish speech connection via radio or which are permanently connected to each other via one or more mobile telephone exchanges M containing means for automatic making of connections between the different subscriber units, each base station B or alternatively each mobile telephone exchange M is provided with a complete voice control system T. This voice control system comprises means TA for analysing speech signals coming from a subscriber unit A with regard to predetermined speech parameters, so that for each received word a pattern of speech parameters characterising the word is obtained, memory means MM for storing speech parameter patterns for a number of predetermined words and comparison means JF for comparison between speech parameter patterns that the speech signal analysing means has extracted from a speech signal received from a subscriber unit and speech parameter patterns that are stored in the memory means and for generating control signals for the connecting means on the basis of this comparison. In addition, each subscriber unit A is provided with an individual word pattern memory OM intended to contain speech parameter patterns for all the words that the subscriber in question wants to be able to use to request connections. The memory means MM in the complete speech control systems T in the base stations B or mobile telephone exchanges M are not arranged to contain the word patterns for all the subscriber units A permanently, but are arranged to receive these word patterns from the individual word pattern memories OM in the subscriber units A only for temporary storage in connection with a subscriber unit A calling a base station B to request connection or alternatively only for the period of time that a subscriber unit A is located within the area of operation of the base station B in question. <IMAGE> |
