PURPOSE:To prevent the seizure between a work and die by a method wherein a part of the outer periphery of the work is scalped by a first stage die facing opposite the part and then the remaining part of the work is scalped by a second stage die or dies in a plurality of stages. CONSTITUTION:The device used in the titled method is formed of a first stage inversed die frame 1, a second stage inversed die frame 1' and die nibs 3 and 3' which are mounted on the die frames 1 and 1' through nib holders 2 and 2', respectively. With the above structure, when a wire W as the work is pulled in the direction of the arrow to pass through the die nib 3, the wire W is scalped as at 4 and 4' to produce a wire W'. Then, when the wire W' is passed through the second stage die nib 3', the wire W' is scalped as at 5 and 5' to produce a wire W''. In this case, no seizure takes place between the nibs and the wires W, W' and W''. |
