The invention relates to a carrying handle and a carrying-handle band material for hand-held containers, bags or the like, in the form of a 1 to 3 cm wide fabric strip, plastic coated on at least one side, the longitudinal and transverse filaments of which consist of thermoplastics and are adhesively bonded in the region of the filament crossing points, whilst the coating consists of a thermoplastic compatible with the plastic of the filaments and adhering thereto.
