PURPOSE:To measure an azimuth angle with high accuracy, and to reduce expenses required for the measurement by equalizing the frequency of a high frequency current applied to each measuring pair, and discriminating and measuring the azimuth angle from a gap inclined angle of the measuring pair whose output becomes zero. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency current of the same frequency is applied to each coil 200, 210,-, and on one and the other sides of each measuring pair, its phase becomes an opposite phase, and a high frequency magnetic field of the same frequency and an opposite phase is generated in the gap of each measuring pair. When a Y moving base 5 is moved in the direction Y, a gap center point G0 of a head to be measured 6' whose azimuth angle is unknown coincides on a reference line (y), and slides one after another on each measuring pair C-n,- C-1, C0, C+1,-C+n. In the same way, in accordance with a difference of an area of the part where both ends of a gap G of a head 6 are overlapped with a gap D of two magnetic head members 16, 17 of each measuring pair C, an output is obtained from an amplifier connected to the head 6'. When a measuring pair Ci by which said output becomes zero is detected, it is discriminated to be an inclined angle from an azimuth angle theta=a reference line. |
