PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive color printer, constituted of such a simple structure that a petal shaped rotor is mounted to a carriage and a heat generating body is embedded in the leading end of each petal while an empty cavity having a small bore is provided thereto and each of thermal transferrable solid pigments having various kinds of colors is charged in each empty chamber. CONSTITUTION:A heater 2 is mounted to a line head 1 along the printing line thereof and a petal shaped rotor 7 having a large number of arms 8 are mounted to the rotary drive shaft 10 loaded to a carriage 6 while each of ink heads 11 is formed to the leading end of each arm 8. A press pin 12 for pressing one of said ink heads 11 to the heater 2 of the line head 1 and a solenoid 13 are mounted to the carriage 6. Each ink head 11 has a small bore 16 opened toward the leading end thereof and an empty cavity 15 having a heater 17 embedded in the wall thereof and a thermal transferrable solid pigment 14 is charged in said cavity 15. |
