PURPOSE:To realize the combination of chrominance signals of optional hues by using a liquid crystal panel device having plural apertures and provided with filters different in transmitting wavelength corresponding to each aperture for a shutter. CONSTITUTION:The multi-color reader consists of an original driving device 20, an original lighting device comprising a white light source 11 lighting an original 1 and a driver 12, an image forming optical system 7, a line image sensor 8, a signal processing circuit 9 and a chrominance signal generating circuit 10. Further, a solid-state shutter device 13 and a controller 14 are provided near the optical system 7. The device 13 is a liquid crystal panel device having plural apertures 15-17 and filters of, e.g., Y,M,C three colors are fitted corresponding to each aperture. The shutter like this is switched by the controller 14 and read by the sensor 8, then B, G, R signals being complementary colors of Y,M,C are read. An optional chrominance signal is read inexpensively by this device. |
