PURPOSE:To provide a quick and simple image forming method which yields a substantial image density in a short period and improves film quality by maintaining the coated amt. of binders in the respective layers of a heat developable photosensitive material at prescribed amts. or below. CONSTITUTION:The coated amts. of the binders in the silver halide emulsion layer, intermediate layer, protective layer, etc. of the phtotosensitive material having at least the phtosensitive silver halide, binders and dye donative material which forms or releases a diffusive dye in correspondence or inverse correspondence with a reduction reaction in the stage of reducing the photosensitve silver halide to silver in a high temp. state on a base are maintained at <=10g/m<2>, more preferably <=5g/m<2> in total. Hydrophilic gelatin is particularly preferably as the binder. The photosensitive material is heated in the presence of water and base and/or base precursor after or simultaneously with imagewise exposure to transfer the formed diffusive dye into a dye fixed layer. |
