PURPOSE:To monitor the occcurrence of an abnormal phenomenon in a transformer automatically based on the amount of moisture absorption of an insulator, by providing the same kind of insulator as the insulator, which is immersed and used in a transformer tank, and a nonhygroscopic material on both sides of a supporting point in the oil of the transformer so that the weight difference can be instantly detected. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 1 is the same kind as an insulator such as pressboard and paper used for insulation and the like between coil layers in a transformer. A nonhygroscopic material 2 is prepared so that its weight and volume becomes the same as the weight and the received buoyancy of the insulator 1 at the dry state. The insulator 1 and the material 2 are attached to strings 7a and 7b, which are in turn connected to a plate spring 3 through guide rollers 4 and 4 so that the weights act on each other. The spring 3 is attached to a supporting point 6. The bending degree of the plate 3 is measured by the detecting signal of a strain gage 5. The weight difference between the insulator 1, which has absorbed the moisture, and the material 2 is always monitored. Based on the amount of moisture in the insulator 1, the occurrence of abnormality in the transformer can be instantly detected. |
