PURPOSE:To obtain a molded product having good finish even in deep drawing processing, by molding an expanded thermoplastic resin sheet plasticized by heating after forcibly quenching only the surface layer part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The long expanded sheet S comprising thermoplastic resin (e.g., crosslinked polyethylene resin) drawn out from a stock material supply part 1 is heated to 110-120 deg.C in a heating part 2 and only the surface layer part of the expanded sheet S is subsequently quenched to about 80-95 deg.C by spraying cooling air (with a temp. of about 20-25 deg.C) from nozzles 30, 30 in a cooling part 3 to form a skin layer. In this case, the inner layer part of the expanded sheet S is held under a high temp. of 110-120 deg.C. In the next step, the expanded sheet S is sent to a molding part 4 and molded by molds 40, 41 (a mold temp. may be held to a temp. about 40 deg.C lower than a conventional temp.) to obtain a desired molded product A. |
